Have No Fear- 5 Steps To Conquer It

Have no fear of the unknown, for God sees all. Although, the only thing that builds our faith is spending time in His word and prayer. You will not have great faith by osmosis. You must get to know your Father God through His Word. The more you know of Him, the more you will trust Him. It takes more than going to church, good worship music and listening to your favorite televangelist! To be effective in your walk, you must study His scriptures. Then, circumstances will not rule over you and grip you with fear because the renewal of your mind process will begin and you will be confident in God’s participation in your circumstances.  It will cause you to go to Him first with every concern, assured that He hears you. Trust Him, have faith in Him, for He cares for you.

Do yourself a favor and write down every possible worse case scenario when facing what seems impossible and ask yourself, “Can God handle this?” His Word says, “YES,” He can and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13)! That means if you have to go through a hard test, trial or season, He is able to walk you THROUGH it. The bullying fear thoughts in your mind can only be kicked out by your assurance of and faith in His Word!

Here are 5 steps to help start you on the road to freedom from fear.

  1. Pray!

God to help you believe His word. You are in fear because you do not truly believe God or are ignorant to His Word.  24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” -Mark 9:24  Many times we are in fear because we simply do not have faith in God and His word. I will also add to this we need to realize that sometimes fear can be a demonic oppression. Sorry, but I have to include what the bible says. The bible teaches that fear is not always a lack of faith or knowledge, it can be a demonic spirit oppressing us. If you don’t believe me of feel I’m getting a bit cooky, study the subject of fear for yourself in scripture. We have to add fasting to our prayer and submit all of our attention to God and His word to be set free.

7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

  2.

Renew your mind with God’s Word!

You will never have an effective, powerful and peaceful walk with God if you do not spend time studying His Word. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” -Romans 12:2.- I can’t tell you how important this is. Do not wait until you go to the church building on Sundays to spend time loving on your heavenly Father. There are many ways to worship Him. We can worship with our time, money, relationships, and talents; but spend time worshipping Him with music. Expecting to be in His presence, knowing He’s with you. Be honest with Him, He loves you. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” -John 4:24 This is a lifelong process. NO ONE will live to come to know EVERYTHING there is to know about our Father, His Son and The Holy Spirit in this life.

  3.

    Worship Him with anointed music.

I can’t tell you how important this is. “24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” -John 4:24

  4.

    Submit to God’s authority.

Many times we are still plagued with fear and lack of faith because in many areas of our lives we are still holding onto the steering wheel. When we insist on adding God to our lives instead of abiding in Him, we get stuck. Jesus has to truly be Lord. The kingdom of God is not a democracy, sorry. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. -James 4:7

  5.

Get a bible living and believing prayer partner (notice I said bible living).

You need accountability in your moments of weakness. Sometimes we need others to remind us of who we are in Christ. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” -John 15:5 Lastly, remember this is a journey and you must be patient and implement these principles consistently with prayer and faith. Also, if you are going to fear something or someone, FEAR THE LORD, be obedient and study His Word for yourself.
